The relationship
quality is key where we have a non-judgemental, genuine and empathic space
where you can share anything at all.
You will receive reflections that while sometimes challenging you will feel held and cared for throughout.
A structured, holistic program starting with emotional
regulation skills and when safe, moving onto learning to deal with the
intrusive and unwanted aspects of feelings that are associated with reliving past
traumas.
We can then move onto understanding
the unhelpful thinking patterns and automatic negative thoughts that so often
occur and then to how you form part of your family and community.
Incorporating both Person Centred & CBT, this can be
particularly beneficial to those who are experiencing negative patterns of
behaviour which are caused by anxiety, phobias, depression, addictions, or any
other mental health issues which are
having an impact on life satisfaction.
This may include learning how the brain causes feelings or a collaborative exercise whilst in session, reframing unhelpful thoughts to more adaptive ones.
I can help couples to talk openly about their difficulties
and help understand themselves, working on how to make changes to improve the
relationship. Sometimes a couple will decide to separate and I can support you
through this process.
You can join a session together or online at separate locations if you prefer.
Sessions are usually fortnightly to give you both time to reflect on the session.
